should I wait to get married?

My fiance and I are getting married.. He had to short sold his house a year ago and we are thinking we should wait to get married until after I buy a house on his credit does not affect the loan.. Is this correct? by jamie93 from Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Jun 11th 2010 Reply

If you plan on purchasing by yourself, then it probably would be a good move to wait.

jamie, do you know if there was mortgage delinquency involved with the short sale of his previous home? There has been some softening of guidelines towards previous shortsales but it must meet several requirements.

If you are the purchaser, you don't need to wait. But, his credit cannot be used. you will need to qualify on your own. .... Happy funding, Rudi
