Should I Shop Around

I am considering purchasing my first home. I want to obviously find the lowest rate, but realistically how different are they from lender to lender? Is it worth my time to shop around? by mark392 from San Dimas, California. Jun 16th 2010 Reply

It is absolutely worth your time. Not everyone prices from the same rate sheet so you could save thousands by doing your homework. If you would like a free quote, please check my profile for rates and request an itemized quote. You should also consider the level of service in addition to rate. Interview a few loan officers and see who offers the best combination of both. With California purchases, it's best to use a licensed California loan officer that understands all that is involved with California escrows. Gregorio Denny --WeFixRates.Com --

You should definitely shop around but DO NOT have every single lender pull your credit doing so. As a Direct National Lender, Freedom Mortgage usually can beat most of the competition. I would be happy to provide you with a free quote.

Yes! I use to work for a bank and the rates were up to 1/2% higher which is huge! The second most important thing is the fees they are charging you for your rate or loan. I am a broker and have no employees and little overhead, so it allows me do charge less and offer superior rates and service. It will be one of the largest purchases you will ever make so it is smart to get multiple offers and compare. If you have questions, give me a call.
