Should I do a cash-out refinance for home improvement?

My home could use a few upgrades, but is it worth it? by jmss33_327_805 from Middletown, Rhode Island. Aug 22nd 2011 Reply

Maybe, maybe not. Maybe a 203K renovation loan would be a better option. Meet with a local mortgage professional who specializes in renovation loans to discuss your options. Here's the reason why: Very few lenders/mortgage consultants are proficient with FHA 203K loans. And, if they are not, the usual game plan is to tell you how bad the loan is (bad only because they do not know how to do them or do not have access to the program).Conversely, as a 203K specialist, I do all types of loans and can assist a consumer with obtaining ANY type of financing that is correct for their goals and desires. All my best, Deborah
