Ron K.If the water heater is located in the interior of the home does the pipe from the quick relief valve need to go to the exterior of the home.If the water heater is located in the interior of the garage does the pipe from the pressure relef value to the exterior wall of the garage or can it go down and drain on the garage floor.Thanks

In Arizona, all hot water tank pressure release valves must discharge outside. Yes, the relief drain must go the exterior, if inside the house. If it is in the garage, it can drain 6 inches or less from the concrete floor. If it is a gas fired water heater, be sure the base is at least 18 inches off the garage floor.
