Type the details of your question hereWe need to refinance our loan for our home in Fife, WA. The problem is we have moved to Canada for school (we are renting here) so the home in Fife is not our primary residence. Is there anything we can do? by jill_anderson1000 from Tacoma, Washington. Absolutely. Finance it as a second home (rates are generally the same as primary residence) or as investment property (rates may be higher). In case lender will not accept Canadian notary you can always sign closing package in an embassy or US Consulate. Please note appraiser will most likely need to get into your house to complete appraisal report. Thanks.
Assuming your credit scores are acceptable, you'll need to have income with a Debt-to-Income Ratio of 45% or less. Pay stubs for previous 30 days, W2s or last two years Federal Tax filings to determine qualifying income. On a refinance some lenders will consider a DTI ratio up yo 50% with strong compensating factors. closing may be performed as SVP stated.Happy funding, Rudi
