No, the lender can't take away your house. You are closed and done. However, they can take your house if you don't make the payments! Hopefully, you have factored your lack of income into your budget.

Like Barb said, just keep making the payments or they will foreclose and then you'd lose the house. If you get into trouble making payments and they find out the reason is you quitting for school there could possibly be a legal question about why you didn't tell your lender you were going to quit - so keep making those payments. (We're not attorney's here...!)

They are both right; lender cannot take away your home unless you stop making payment to mortgage company. As long as you make timely payments, you will be fine.

Thank you all! The reason why I was added to the loan was because my fiance had a previous bankruptcy so they needed my credit in order to qualify but even with just his income we can make the payments without a problem. I will be working somewhere else but part Time. Thanks for the comments!

The loan is closed. The only way now would be for you to stop making payments.

Once the loan is issued, they cannot change the terms.. you never signed anything stating you would keep your job.. you only agreed to make the payments.. and so long as the payments are made, you will not have n issue.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
