Would I be saving money that way? My realtor tells me he can do my loan too. by ShelleyBurke1 from Victorville, California. Oct 26th 2010
The answer to this is that she needs to give you at least 3 resources to choose from or it is considered steering. Be very careful and check out all your options before jumping in. If you would like to see my options just contact me. I guarantee my GFE. Thanks
Hello Shelly, depending on the state rules, your Agent might be able to do both, however that does not guarantee you to save money. you should still shop around for a mortgage, different brokers and lenders have different products, interest rates and closing cost. feel free to visit us online at www.cresticofunding.com or contact Houtan.Hormozian@Crestico.com 949 242 5215 to get a quick idea.
Hi Shelley,Technically, one person cannot do both, however, most Realtors prefer to work with lenders they know and have history with. It can't hurt to get a quote from them and follow up with another quote or two.I woudl be happy to give you some details if you call me at 888-PierWest(743-7937) X 701 or email me the purchase details at Matt@PierWestCapital.comBest,Matt Davis
I do nto thik that is legal with the Department of Real Estate but it may be as long as he / she recommend you shop with other sources and some other rules apply.
Hi Shelley,The Realtor would need to have his DRE license registered with a broker that can do both sides. If he does, he can do both, but, I would not recommend this as there is alot to think about on both sides. You need to have a lender to focus on just your loan as the loans are not easy to get through these days. If you have the realtor work on both sides, I would think that if he basically focuses on the real estate side most of the time and takes in loans once in a while, he is not up on all the new guidelines that you need to be aware of when you put together a loan. As far as saving money, the seller pays the real estate agent and if he does both sides he will charge a fee to put the loan together, just like a lender. So, most likely you would not really save much!If I can be of any help to you, please do not hesitate to contact me. My name is Cindy MacDonell, loansbycindy@gmail.com. Cell is 707-206-2832
Don't know if you would be saving money. Usually, most folks have a buyers Agent fot their purchase and a separate lender for financing. Very few folks can do both well.
It is illegal in my state, Utah, for the same person to handle both the real estate transaction and the financing.
