happened when i was in college more than 7 years ago, but it is the only major blemish i have. by doriansummers.bul... from Champaign, Illinois. Jan 21st 2014
Dorian thanks for the question. An eviction is typically not reported on credit unless you were sued and they placed a judgement. You should not have any issues obtaining a new mortgage if that's the only issue. We still have to qualify you based on credit, income and down payment. I'd be happy to get you pre-approved and please feel free to contact me with any additional questions. Thanks. Sam www.silvercreekfinance.com
Dorian, This shouldn't have an effect on your ability to obtain a new mortgage assuming you are otherwise qualified. You may have to write a letter of explanation if something is showing up on credit (probably not), but that isn't difficult.
Shouldn't be an issue even if it shows on your credit because it was so long ago- assuming you have established a good payment history since then that is reflected on your credit. Good luck - move forward!
Generally speaking no, but if there is an unpaid judgment from that eviction still showing on your credit report, then it would have to be paid or removed before you can get a mortgage.. ..
