In my humble opinion, in the absence of critically negative economic news from Europe and the continued irrational excuberance of the US economy (read BS market pumping about how much the economy is recovering, which it isn't in real terms) I think we have a real chance of the Congress leaving HARP 3 on the vine. We shall wait and see, however if you haven't taken advantage of it already what on EARTH are you waiting for? There are three things you can bet on in life..... 1) Everyone will eventually meet their maker 2) Taxes 3) Interest rates go up faster then they come down!
It's in the works, but it's at Washington's speed.. unless it's a bill regarding a Congressional pay raise, vacation, or added benefits, it's not going to move very quick.. As Joe said... Stay Tuned!!.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. Legislation for a "HARP 3" has been introduced and is currently making its way through the process. Nothing official yet. Stay tuned. www.HARP3-Refinance.com
Contact your Senators and Representatives in congress a tell them how it will benefit you. Encourage your friends, neighbors and coworkers to do the same.
GREAT question we would all like to know but it is only in the works in congress so call ALL your Senators and congress people.
I am not holding my breath for a HARP 3.0 because this time around it's more complicated. If you have other options, take them now rather than later.
This is the second attempt at presenting the bill and with every update comes different changes that are being proposed by the lawmakers. My guess is we will not see anything available to the public until the third quarter at the earliest (if at all). All the best!
Unfortunately it's not a simple answer, we are at the mercy of Congress! No one knows. My two cents are that if and when it does pass, rates will have risen and then you are losing the benefit anyway. I would recommend talking to a lender to find out what programs you might qualify for now to take advantage of the low rates. Rates are trending up, have been for a month or so now and will likely continue to do so. That's the reality. :) I'm in Sun Prairie - just outside of Madison if you would like to chat.
