Conventional Single Premium MI

Yes and no.. It really depends on what your Loan to Value (LTV) is once you add the premium to your loan... if it does not bump you up to a higher range, then you should be OK.. (Example... LTV is 86%, when you add SPMI it goes to 89%.. Your ok,, LTV is 84%, when you add SPMI it goes to 87%, not ok... pricing is based on 5% increments.. So 80%, 85%, 90%, 95%, 97%... )I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. You should be able to but it depends on what your existing MI is and if you are doing a HARP refi or not.

I think what you're looking for is LPMI, lender paid mortgage insurance. It's paid upfront and incorporated into the rate and the cost can be rolled into the loan, depending on your scenario. It's actually a pretty great deal right now if you have good credit. What's your situation? I can got up to 95% loan to value and still get a good rate. Yes you should be able to but it depends on the LTV after the total loan amount has been calculated including the single premium.
