Is there any other way if we can't? We're looking at house in the price range of 60,000 to 120,000? by kristi_597_555 from Louisville, Kentucky. Feb 22nd 2012
We require a 640 score for USDA, FHA, loans, and a 620 score for VA loans.
There is a lot of information missing; however, if your score is 572, then you're not far from the required 620 to 640 required for most lenders. Applying with others when you're not married is possible; however he would have to improve his score as well. Best advice is to contact a local mortgage broker, not a bank, and apply with them.. They can look at your complete profile and determine what the necessary steps would be to rapidly improve your score. They also have access to numerous lenders and can find the right match for your particular scenario.. WilliamAcres.com
Start by contacting a local Mortgage Banker/Broker. They should be able to guide you on what you need to do to get your scores up. In most cases, the steps you need to take are relatively simple. It could take as little as two weeks or as long as 4-6 months depending on what you need to do. Most lenders are looking for a middle credit score of at least 620.
