Need a Mortgage!

Ok so this question is going to hopefully help us to decide whether now or in the future what our options are I currently own my home along with my brother. He is the sole person on the mortgage note. We both desperately want it to be solely in my name and he is wanting out of the situation. He does not live in the home...I do with my wife and 4 children. It is my home...besides his name on a piece of paper. He even signed and had notarized (never recorded as of yet) a bargain and sale dead to me a few months back.I do not have the best of credit prob about a 680ish as it had dropped form the 700s after I had to use some credit cards to keep afloat a bit ago. I have a fairly new business that is a lot of cash money and prior to that I worked for a company for 11 years. I try to use my business banking to show as much as I could. Not sure what the right thing to do is. First, I am not sure what my options are....can I get my own mortgage? Refi the existing one into my name? Or should I leave to my brother and I try to get another home mortgage for an entirely different home?Do I need my credit score to be at a specific number? Do I need to show a certain amount of money? I am in NY but on Long Island. In a nice neighborhood and want to stay here...the housing prices in my neighborhood is about 500-600,000 and of course way above.I just want to know if there are any options and if so what they are in either scenario. Or if there are no options what do I need to do.IF ANYONE CAN PLEASE GUIDE ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT! by lovly1_117_410 from Smithtown, New York. Sep 9th 2011 Reply
