Yes. If you really don't want to buy a home but don't want to admit it, or you like being disappointed when someone else who is pre-qualified has their offer accepted instead of yours, or you just like wasting your time looking but never being able to buy, then don't get prequalified. Prequalification is the first step in learning IF you are eligible for a loan, HOW MUCH loan you are qualified for, WILL the payment fit into your personal budget. WILL a well-qualified Realtor(R) be willing to work with you if you are not prequalified. In many jurisdictions the answer to the last question is Absolutely Not. They are not going to waste their valuable time researching and showing you potential properties if they have no idea IF or HOW much you are qualified for. SO, get prequalified First and your experience will be much better. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z Team of NEXA Mortgage ~ NMLS 40586 ~ Licensed in Arizona, California, Georgia, Oregon, and Washington. You should prequalify especially if going thru a realtor. Most realtors will not present an offer unless you're prequaled.

Andale696 , is this question for real ? do you wish to buy a house or not ? get prequalified or better yet, preaaproved, its free..why would any professional realtor run around showing you a home if you don't qualify to purchase it....rates are at all time lows, what are you waiting for ? lets go !
