Possibly.. if you live here and you receive income from a foreign source, then so long as that income is claimed on a US Federal tax return and the documents can be converted to English, then it can be used.. If you are not paying taxes on it, then for conforming loan qualifying purposes, it cannot be used.. There might be some portfolio lenders in your area that will look at bank deposits as a source of income rather than your tax and pay stub documentation.. Try contacting a local mortgage professional in your area and see if they have any of these bank statement portfolio programs. Yes, it's treated no differently than domestic income assuming it's reported on a US tax return. If not, there are mortgage products that will allow for non-taxable foreign income, however the terms are not as favorable.
Once everything is translated to English then the lender can assess the translated documents. Once the documents have been certified the lenders do not need the original non-English documents. Some countries don't have annual leave. This will vary slightly on how your proof of income is assessed. If a basic tax system is in place, it will not impact the assessment too much. In most cases, payslips from first world countries will be acceptable to the banks. Some countries have tax returns that are infrequent or cannot be readily understood by Australian banks to be accepted as proof of your income. Some of our lenders will accept an accountant's letter for self-employed applicants.
