Can my father kick me out if I signed the mortgage?

I live in florida. My father and I both signed the mortgage to a house but only he signed the note. I have been making all the payments since 2005 when I moved in. We had a fallout and now he's threatening to kick me out cause he says that only he owns the house. I have all the papaerwork the we signed. Aren't I part owner of the house? Can he actually kick me out? by rileysue46 from Tampa, Florida. Apr 29th 2011 Reply

Are you on title? If you are on title, then you are a legal owner. Also, since you are making the payments, if you can show proof, the lender would be willing to refi since you have been invested in the property and you are on title.

Check the public records in your county to see if you are part owner to the property. This will clear up any discrepancies on ownership.

If you are title to the house you are an owner of it and he cant do anyhting. Check your deed.
