The construction company that my husband worked for went under in 2013. He was out of a job for 2 years. While he was looking for a new job we applied for the HARP program and qualified. We hired a lawyer to file bankruptcy...but got ripped off by him and couldn't file. (long story). We would like to sell the house we are in and move closer to our jobs. It's been 2 years since we went through the HARP program. We are slowly getting back on our feet and building our credit back up (we had excellent credit until my husband lost his job). Are we able to sell our house ? Will someone give us a new loan to buy a new house? by reading5669906 from Saint Louis, Missouri. Mar 28th 2016
Yes you can. HARP is just a refinance loan programI hope this helps.Jesse Stroup | California Mortgage Professional | www.JesseStroup.com | NMLS ID# 6229
You can certainly sell the home you are in. And you may very well qualify for a new mortgage loan. I would recommend connecting with a local mortgage lender and discuss your situation.
Much more info need to answer your questions directly.. but in general, you can sell your home anytime whether or not you used HARP... Qualifying for a new mortgage could be a problem, but we would need to analyze your complete loan profile to advise you properly.. for this reason, you should contact a LOCAL mortgage broker and apply with them. Once they see your complete loan profile, they will be better equipped to advise you properly. Also, by applying with your LOCAL Broker, you have an advantage because he's familiar with local customs and works with many lenders with each one offering a different type of lending program. This is unlike the local bank which typically only has a few lending programs. The more lenders, the more lending options, and the more likely your scenario will be accepted.. Plus, the broker is experienced in seeking out the best loan terms for your particular scenario, and he has lower overhead which typically results in lower rates and fees than most of the larger lenders.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
