The standard rules FOR ALL MORTGAGE LENDERS require you to have a two year overall job history. If you've only been working for JUST 6 months, that isn't enough time. But if you mean only 6 months at the current job, but you have more than 2-years combined history, then you might be OK.

Dan,Were you employed prior to this new position? If so was it in the same general field? Can you provide two years of previous federal tax returns? Big banks are not the way to go. If you have 2 years of tax returns and 30 days pay stubs I can get this done. I've been licensed in FL for 20 years and would be happy to assist.

More info needed.. if you are in the same field of work and you had a previous job but left it for a different job, then you should be ok so long as you have 2 years or more history.. Also, if you are a recent college graduate and you are working in your field of study, then your time in college is considered a continuation of employment for lending purposes.. example: you just graduated from a 4 year nursing degree and are now working as a nurse.. for lending purposes, you have 4 & 1/2 years continuation.. If you're trying to interpret the guidelines on your own, then that's a mistake.. you should contact a local mortgage broker and let him look at your complete loan scenario.. only then will you know for sure.. .. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. I should be able to do this loan with 6 months on the job. We look at what you make now versus last 2 years. Rates are competitive on this program. You can reach me at 678-571-7433.
