Hey Jerome,With a purchasing a home, unless stated otherwise at settlement you will receive the keys to the home and it's ready for occupancy. Please let me know if I can assist with financing.James Walls443-735-9781james@securedfundingcorporation.com

It all depends on when the mortgage company can fund the loan and the county records the deed. Once the county records; the home is yours. Jesse Stroup California Mortgage Professional www.CaliforniaHomeLoanLender.comwww.JesseStroup.comNMLS# 6229

Normally at closing you receive keys right after signing all the paperwork. If there will be a delay for any reason, a paragraph will include the information in the purchase sales contract or addendum.

That is a negotiated item as part of the purchase agreement. Most of the time you negotiate to take the property right away, 24-hours is also common. Talk to your real estate agent about this when making your offer.
