down payment help in Iowa?

In most cases,down payment assistance is limited to either FHA or Conforming loan limits which are $271,050 and $417,000 loan amounts respectively. I agree with Victor's response. Looking at the big picture... DPA's are typically to help FTHB (first time home buyers) get into homes that don't have the capacity to save for a down-payment. When a purchase exceeds the conforming loan limit of $417k (in most of the country) the guidelines typically require larger down-payments. My best answer for a possible source of a DPA on a jumbo loan would be to ask that wealthy uncle or grandfather for a Gift if its really needed.
