Problems with lender and agent

I am scheduled to close a week from now but the lender hasn’t scheduled an appraisal yet. We began the application at the start of the month and feel that they’ve been sitting on it and now scrambling to find an appraiser. Our agent and the lender are not on good terms and it’s causing me time and money. Do I drop them? by rooster58 from Harbor Springs, Michigan. Apr 28th 2022 Reply

Something isn't right. Once you inform the lender you have a successful offer, and provide them with a copy of the purchase agreement, ordering the appraisal (assuming one is even required) is almost always the first thing the lender does. It also doesn't matter if the lender and the agent are on good terms, as the agent really has no input on the loan process once they've helped you secure a successful offer. Are you sure it hasn't been ordered? What does the Loan Officer say? Many areas around the country, taking three weeks or more to get an appraisal done is not uncommon. Good luck.
