Can I file a lawsuit against a bank and its vice president for failure and carelessness in filing a discharge of loan documents on a property? Shouldn’t this be considered slander of title? This can result in many issues in the future. by novanet492 from Forest Lakes, Arizona. Jun 24th 2022

Technically, anyone can file a lawsuit against anyone for anything. The question should be, should I? I don't think slander of title is a thing. What did or didn't the bank/VP do or not do, and what damage has it caused you? If you are referencing the filing of a lien release or Deed of Reconveyance, how much time has passed since it should have been filed/recorded? If you think you have been wronged, you should seek legal counsel from a qualified Real Estate Attorney.Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z Team of NEXA Mortgage ~ NMLS 40586 ~ Certified Mortgage Advisor and Certified by The National Association of Mortgage Professionals as a Certified Veterans Lending Specialist.NEXA is licensed in all states except MA and NY so give us a call. ~ www.ApplyYes.com 480-889-9000 - OR - 480-695-9300
