Now, home equity loans offering cash out to the borrower can be considered a personal loan, but unlike a personal loan which is unsecured, the home equity loan is of course secured by the subject property. For an unsecured loan, I would try a credit union which typically will offer the lowest local rates for unsecured loans (personal loans). All the best, Scott.
