Ok my wife past away 2 years ago the house was in her name.She left it to me so I put it in my name.does the deed stay in her name

No. If she quit-claimed the house to you in her will then her interest in the home would transfer to you depending on the way the will was written.I would need to see the docs where you indicate you put in in your name to see how it was done.

It depends on how the home was titled before she passed away and the rules of the state in which you reside. It's likely that upon death, the home transferred to you completely. I'd get a copy of the most recent recorded deed from your County Clerk and see how it reads. If you are thinking of selling the home, you can take this to your Realtor and they can have a title company give you direction on this.
