Are there any more lenders that honor the obama mortgage program? by t.elliott413 from Clearwater, Florida. Feb 22nd 2019
You will have to be more specific.. There never was any loan program called the "Obama Mortgage".. There was however a mortgage program which allowed borrowers who were underwater on their homes to refinance without the need for an appraisal.. It was called the Home Affordable Refinance Program, or HARP loan.. This loan ended December 31st of 2018. It ended because the program was no longer necessary since the majority of homeowners who were underwater now have sufficient equity to refinance. I'm a preferred Lender with California and Arizona being my primary markets. Never heard of an Obama mortgage program. There WAS something known as HARP, the 'Home Affordable Refinance Program', but that program has ended. What is it you are looking for, and maybe we can redirect you to something that will suit your situation.
