what';s the ballpark for the timing on closing a VA loan? can it be done within a month? don't mean to rush but balancing birth of my son and needing to ship out with securing a home so timing is necessary by kenzielamar7846541 from Detroit, Michigan. Oct 6th 2014

A month is reasonable if you are able to provide everything needed to have your loan underwritten quickly. You will want to get your hands on your Certificate of Eligibility right away - that is a potential bottle neck that could cause you a problem. Typically, 30 days, but with VA the appraisal process is more lengthily.. which can add to your closing time.. There are other things that can pop up as well, but for most clean transactions, 30 days is sufficient.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. 30 days is very possible if you provide all the needed documentation right away. Ideally you could get the process started a little before you actually are under contract.
