My wife has a recent foreclosure.

Can I get a loan in my name assuming that i I have enough income? Does her credit or debt impact my ability to get a loan? by bradatkins from Laguna Beach, California. Apr 28th 2010 Reply

Yes if you go FHA,VA or USDA... basically any Government programs. But if you go conventional you can keep it under you. But it really is a case by case scenario... For example if you were living in the home that was foreclosed and interest was deducted on your tax returns you would most likely have to explain what happend and run a risk of getting denied. What I suggest is we can submit the package as a "TBD" that way you know you have a loan approval before you set out to find a home...Also if you were married before or after the home was purchased matters too..~Wes Hankins
