My husband and I live in Gary Indiana with or last remaining 3 teenage children.

We want to buy the house we are currently renting. We don't know what either of our credit scores or rating is, but quite sure it is low. Is there a way to check our credit status without a fee. Most sites say they are free but end up paying a fee anyway. We love house and the quiet neighborhood and the fact that i have family down the street. We also talked about doing some renovations to the house because it needs updating. Can you help us to qualify for a mortgage with bad to poor credit? by sebrenna70578 from Gary, Indiana. It really depends on the extent of how bad your credit is and how recent any derogatory information has reported. We can help people down to 580 but typically you wouldn't want to have have anything negative hit your credit in the last 12 months especially 30 day late payments on credit accounts. Medical collections are not as bad as other derogatory accounts. There is no way to get a free report with the scores, but you can get a free report with accounts and history at www.annualcreditreport.com but we can look into it for you. Call me on Tue @ 502-272-4461 and we'll so we can help you or at least give you a plan.Regards,Ryan Wheeler

Good Afternoon. I would suggest you either decide to work with a loan officer who is experienced and dedicated to helping clients improve their credit score, or take this on yourself prior to applying for any loans. You can visit http://www.myfico.com/Products/Products_Guest.aspx to get your credit report(s), but you need to pay for their service. They have a special for 1 Month for the Score Watch, which will give you the Experian Credit Score for the 1st Month and if you purchase another option you can get all 3. Fixing credit is fairly easy in many cases, as long as you follow the suggestions of the person you are working with, which also requires that the person you are working with does know about credit and how to help a client bring up their scores as needed. You can check out the following site for recent graduates of the FICO PRO Certification at http://solutions.allregs.com/fico-pro-graduates/ You'll notice there is someone from Indiana listed on there for 2014, so maybe you can give him a call to help! Best of luck to you!

www.AnnualCreditReport.com is the site that provides "true" free credit reports. You are allowed one with scores once a year.
