Mortgage after Bankruptcy - can the waiting period be decreased if you have a cosigner?

No. For BK 7 it is a minimum 2 years, but for a Bk13 the waiting period can be as little at 1yr with certain programs and by re-establishing good credit.

The short answer is no. The time period is based on the discharge date not when filed. When you have a co- signor just remember their credit is evaluated along with income & debts. What is your situation? More information please.
