Matthew, You are not obligated to use the same lender. You should also obtain quotes for rates and fees from at least 3 lenders. Also if you are in lava zone 1 or 2, most lenders will not have the ability to provide financing.Aloha, Alan Van Zee, President, Hawaii Mortgage Company 808-988-6622.

No...you can use any lender of choice. Feel free to contact me to assist you. Mahalo!!
No, and you don't necessarily have to refinance to get PMI removed.
no, use whatever lender you want who has a good reputation and will do a good job presenting and then helping you evaluate options.
If you have enough equity in your home you can request that PMI is removed at 80% LTV with an appraisal in some cases - call the lender that is currently servicing your loan (who you make payments to). If you have recent FHA loan you will have to refinance to get rid of it. Call me if you would like more details. JMurray@WintrustMortgage.com / 312 256 4065
Not only do you NOT need to use your current lender, almost without fail, they will be one of the worst options for you. The simple reason being is that most people for some reason either think they have to use the same lender, or only contact the same lender. The lender, knowing this, therefore gets away with higher rates simply because they can!
NO, in fact you might get a better deal if you use someone else.. but regardless, you are not required or obligated to use the same lender that is servicing your loan now..
