Locked in but want to change loan types

I was approved and locked into a jumbo 30 year but based on the rates changes, 5/1 ARM is almost 1% lower. I want to know if I can CHANGE LOAN TYPES WITH OUT HAVING TO GO THOUGH THE APPROVAL PROCESS AGAIN (CREDIT PULL, ETC). Thanks! by Brose88826 from Alton, Kansas. Jul 24th 2018 Reply

Typically, if you keep the loan with the same company, then it's not an issue..Just call your loan officer and tell them you want to change it.. they don't have to re-pull credit or go through the whole process again. This is assuming you have not closed yet.. if you have, then you would need to go through the entire process again.. I'm a preferred Lender with California and Arizona being my primary markets. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com NMLS# 226347 / LendUS, NMLS 1938/ AZMB0121893

If you change programs, underwriting will need to check to make sure you qualify for the new program. The turn around time will usually be around 12-48 hours for re-approval, because the underwriter already have credit and income qualified you for the previous loan program.
