Loan approval delay due to appraiser
I’m having delays with my loan approval since an underwriter from my bank has asked for a clarification from the appraiser and has not gotten any response at all. I’ve tried calling and emailing but still no reply. Closing has been put on hold and the bank says all we can do is wait. I’m stressed out due to the situation and would love to get any suggestions. Sorry to hear of your troubles, but unfortunately current Appraiser Independence rules have made the appraisal process more difficult, and we are many times at the mercy of the randomly assigned appraiser. Delayed closings happen. There is a process for changing appraisers if this one really disappeared. Talk to your Loan Officer for more information, and the process for starting all over if needed.
