Last year I had surgery and was out of work the entire year, but I completed college. I have graduated and been employed since December 2013. My issues is that within that year spand my credit score dropped drastically. What typ of things should I clear up first if there is nothing owed to banks or credit unions?

The biggest common problem I see which generates lower credit scores is max'ed out credit cards. As the balance on the card reaches closer and closer to the cards limit, the more it lowers your score. The simple reason is that who has max'ed out cards? Someone in good shape, or someone living on the edge? Paying down cards, and keeping the balances under 25% of the cards limit should be your goal. www.Mortgage-Rochester.net

We'll need more info on what is showing up on your credit. Has anyone pulled it recently? If yes, what specifically showed up that was positive or negative?

Knowing the derogatory items on your credit report will determine what measures you need to take to improve your score. Some things may be easier to fix as others may take time. Late payments on old trade lines or not enough credit history could be affecting you if you don't currently have credit cards. Your credit history would need to be reviewed to help you specifically.
