Is www.waklimifinancialgroupllc.com a legitimate lender?

I noticed a lot of questions answered by Tammy Wilson that seem to appear she can do all types of loans, but I'm not sure the company is legitimate. The website she is using does not list any licenses for any state and I don't find her or the company in the NMLS registry. Does anyone know anything about these people and can I trust them? I got burned once by Countrywide and I don't want to get burned again. Thank you for any help you can give me. by BarryD from Salt Point, New York. Dec 8th 2012 Reply

No one on nthis site is likely to make an assessment about another lender unless they know them personally. All mortgage offices must be licensed and she should post her NMLS # and that of her company should be available too. Ultimately if you are not comfortable find a company recommended by someone you know. There are certainly lots of great companies around. Your Countrywide experience is not likely to be repeated, simply because some of the options they and other offered are no longer available.

Wow! Barry, I'd definitely avoid them. If their mortgage acumen is anything like her response, you'd be in trouble with them too. Tammy, There are only 50 states in the United States, not 52, Countrywide was acquired by Bank of America, not "Will Fargo", and because of the acquisition, Countrywide no longer exists. What does "...that's what's up with a clutch why" mean anyway. Finally, before I responded, I did a look-up with the State of New York and the National Mortgage Licensing and Registration System. I could not find you listed with either. Would you be willing to share with Barry and the rest of us Mortgage Professionals which regulatory agency issued you a license to originate Mortgage loans?

I think you have your answer now, Barry. Apparently we have 52 States.

Your best answer is to get off the Internet, and go sit down at your local NON-Bank lender. I am constantly amazed at people who are willing to let some guy off the Internet thousands of miles away with an 800 number handle their largest single financial transaction... All Loan Officers and All Lenders MUST have an NMLS number and be listed at www.NMLSconsumeraccess.org. I've looked at the site, it doesn't look legit to me... and even the e-mail listed is just a Yahoo account... RUN...
