Is there any down side to using my lender's attorney/closing services? This would save me some money on costs.

You can always shop for this service. Using the lenders attorney/closing services just speeds up the process.

Typically, there is no down side to using those referred to you by the lender.. in fact, it could help expedite your closing with fewer problems.. however the rules do allow you to shop for a better deal, but this could affect your closing process negatively.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. Great day to you. There is not an issue using the lenders attorney/closing services, however I would compare the costs and make sure that you are comfortable with them.

Your third party services, like closing company / title company are YOUR choice. There is nothing wrong with using their services, but my experience is that "internal" services are usually more expensive, not cheaper... Be sure to shop, and use them if you wish.
