ager is. This is all about the letter I received last week about a Foreclosure. I'm current all payments haven't been late in almost 2yrs. What type of questions should I ask. This letter came from their Home Retention Department any suggestions would really help. Thank You by rabiddog69725 from , . Jul 22nd 2013
It sounds like Ocwen may be trying to be pro-active because you were seriously delinquent in the past. My guess is that they are trying to see if you pose a delinquency threat in the future. You said you haven't been delinquent for at least two years, but did you get current by paying yourself current or did they do some form of modification (adjusted rate, moved delinquency amount to end of loan, etc.). If you have been current for the last two years and brought yourself current and don't foresee delinquency issues in the future, then I would suggest you be guarded about what information you provide them. If it were me and there was no modification done, then I would just let them know that the issues were a thing of the past and a result of the then present circumstances and thanks for your concern but nothing needs to be done. If instead, there were modifications or concessions granted that helped you get current, the same applies, but I would be a little more willing to answer generic questions to make them "feel good". You do NOT need to provide any additional personal information, such as where you work, employer's phone #, how much you make, household income, where you bank, etc. You are obligate to provide that information at the time of an application, but are not under an obligation to provide them with updates. unless we could actually see the letter and get much more details on the communication between you and Ocwen, it's very difficult for anyone here to answer accurately.. As others here have suggested, it could be numerous reasons they are reaching out to you.. prevention, modification, refinance??? who knows.. but the way it sounds, you will find out once you have your phone call.. .. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com
They may be going to offer you a refinance or loan modification.
Yes, the first thing you want to do is call your servicer and confirm that you are indeed current. If your account is current and you have been paying on time, then the only thing this could be would be a sales call. Be careful about giving any of your personal information over the phone until you have satisfactorily identified them.
