Hi Garrett - A lot of veterans don't realize that they can use their VA mortgage benefit over and over, so long as they pay off their previous mortgage. You can use it as many times as you would like.If you would like to keep your current home, which you purchased with a VA mortgage, and purchase another home with a VA mortgage, that is possible, too, depending on the amount of entitlement you have left, and the purchase price of your new home.In order to have two VA mortgages at the same time, the VA mortgage for your second purchase must be at least $144,001. Yes.. but understand that the VA lending fee is different for first time users vs. 2nd or 3rd time users.. It's more.. (unless your a disabled veteran receiving VA disability, then the fee is waived). If you still have that property and it's still secured by VA, then depending on your remaining entitlement, you might need a down payment.. (More info needed).. Yes if you are not funding fee exempt the upfront funding fee will be a little larger on this loan. You will want to pull a certificate of eligibility on yourself to make sure the old lender zeroed out the balance on that mortgage and restored your entitlement.
Yes as long as you have VA entitlement left. You can order your Certificate of Eligibility from VA at https://www.ebenefits.va.gov/ebenefits/homepage or when you find a local lender you would like to use they can order this for you and usually get it same day.
