If the lender made material errors during the process that cost you money you may have justification in filing a complaint with the CFPB, HUD or the Lenders home office and obtain relief. Without any more information regarding the exact issues and where the perceived blunders were made it is impossible to give more definitive information. The first step I would take is to contact the Lenders corporate office and explain your case and try to get some satisfaction. Lenders today do not want to get involved in handling complaints that have been made to the government. They will go out of their way to keep their borrowers happy. However if the issue is that you were charged a higher rate because a lock was lost due to processing delays your chances may be very slim. Again more information needed but don't give up. If you have been wronged there are many avenues available today that did not exist 4-5 years ago. As for time to refinance there is no time frame. Loans todays do not have pre-pay penalties so your only loss is the refinancing costs which could be substantial depending on loan amounts and program. More info is needed to properly answer your question. But It depends on the lending program, you might be required to wait 6 months or have a specific "Net Tangible Benefit" which would require you to save 5% or more in your payment.. and realistically, if the loan is funded and closed, regardless of the "blunders" the lender did, refinancing will only cost you more money...
