If I make an overpayment on my mortgage payment, will it get applied to the principal or interest?

Any over payments are automatically applied to principal.. I don't even think it's possible to pre pay interest after your loan has started.. You could also apply it to your escrow account, but typically, if you do not specify where to apply it, it will go to principal. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona.
