Your question is not clear but if I'm reading correctly.. You are asking if you need to have filed 2011 taxes to qualify for a mortgage. The answer is Yes.. You need to have filed a 2011 tax return OR filed a 2011 tax extension.. The lender will require your 2010 & 2011 W2's and or 1099's even if you have only filed for an extension.. If your question is "I just took out a new FHA loan, do I have to show that address of my property financed with an FHA loan as my primary residence when I file my taxes?", the answer is yes. Because you signed (or will sign) and affidavit at the closing stipulating that the new property is your primary residence, then the Federal Tax Return you file should show the same address. FHA will find out if the IRS gets a different address off of your return. If you didn't (or don't) move into a home you bought with FHA financing, then you have bigger issues, like fraud. There are a couple of exceptions that may apply, but without more detail, it would be difficult to determine if they apply to you. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z team of NOVA Home Loans ~ NMLS 40586 ~ www.LoansA2z.com 888-889-9950
You do not need to have filed your 2011 taxes as long as you filed an extension. You will however need a copy of the extension.

Regardless if you obtain FHA financing for the purpose of buying a home, you always need to file your federal taxes in order to qualify.
