Hi Sherri! The correct information is that a Chapter 7 BK can be on your credit for up to 10 Years, but it is usually listed for 7 Years. Adding new credit will be a good way to improve your credit score and then managing the credit balances to just 30% of the credit limit will also be a very positive factor! Good Luck!
Yes, but just because it is removed from you Credit Report, does not mean it goes away. It stays on you record for ever
Here is a good website to use for your reference to my information: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/creditreports/cr_time.shtml
Technically, yes... but you can't just remove a bankruptcy from your credit report... and anyone telling you they can is less than truthful. The bankruptcy will remain on your credit report for 10-years. On the other hand, as the bankruptcy ages, it holds less and less weight. It is not unheard of to see people with great credit scores just two or three years after a bankruptcy if they obtain new credit and handle it responsibly.
Keeping a low balance on the credit card will help improve your score.
IF anyone tells you that they can remove a bk off your credit report, run!!!!! Lenders, and underwriters will check the bk court system, its called pacer, , and it will show on there... linda
