If credit scores were the only thing USDA looked at when determining one's eligibility, then so long as your above 620, you would qualify with most lenders.. the reality is that it takes so much more than a credit score to qualify... Income, debt, debt to income ratios, credit, credit history, foreclosure?, BK?, Short Sale?, Unpaid taxes?, Unpaid Student Loans?, You could have a 800 credit score and still might not qualify if you had one of these deficiencies. If you want to know for sure, you should contact a local mortgage broker, not the corner bank. Brokers are experienced in analyzing your complete profile and guiding you to the right loan product / lender for your specific scenario.. If they see something on your credit that needs attention prior to applying, they an usually help you with that as well.. you wont get this type of service with most "big box banks".. .. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. Usually a mid FICO score of 620 or higher is needed for a USDA home mortgage loan. There is also an income and property requirement too. I can help you throughout the entire process. You can contact me at 816-914-9685, saradeere@openmortgage.com, or http://saradeere.openmortgage.com...Sara

Many USDA lenders will require a minimum of a 620 and most require 640 and above. A USDA rural loan is a great loan in my opinion. Good luck and best wishes, Sean
