Once you 'close' (final sign on everything) on your mortgage loan, it is a done deal, so there should be no worries. But this brings up a great situation... When you are in the process of getting a home loan, never ever apply for other new credit (like a car, or new furniture financing), or significantly increase balances on existing card cards. Lenders underwrite based on the initial credit report, but then look at credit again just BEFORE the final closing. Any changes in credit MAY effect your deal, and you could suddenly find your loan denied. For loans in MN, Wi, or SD, visit me at www.WI-MortgageBroker.com
There actually is a possibility the loan would not go through the lenders FINAL closing. Again repeating part of the prior response, it is not a GOOD IDEA at all to make a major purchase especially where credit is a part of the transaction anytime during the loan process and wait about at least a week after the loan closes.
