I own my home outright, and it is worth about 280k. How much would I be able to borrow if I needed cash out?

Generally speaking, you can cash out on a conventional loan up to 80% loan to value if your home is a single family residence. Some lenders have a maximum cash out limit, so you may want to ask your local mortgage loan originator.

Lending guidelines allow for up to 80% cash out, so about $224,000. This assumes that you meet all other eligibility requirements such as debt to income ratios, sufficient credit and acceptable credit scores...
