too much info missing.. For the most part, you cannot have 2 VA loans at the same time.. so are you selling your current home and then purchasing another?? If so, then you should have no problems assuming your paid off your loan in full.. But, a VA loan might not be your best option 2nd time around.. if your not disabled, then you have to pay the VA funding fee, however the fee is higher on your 2nd use, and can be as high as 3.3%.. if you have 20% down, you're better off using a conventional loan product (assuming you qualify). It may or may not be smart or possible to have one or both of you on the loan, but this decision will be the same whether you buy before or after. All that being said, there are some differences in the way that you should title the property from an estate perspective. However, this can generally be amended after you are married if necessary. Short answer: you have to pay off the first VA loan to get a new one, unless you still live in the home, then it would be a refinance.
