The very first thing you need to do is contact a local mortgage broker and apply with them.. they have everything necessary to get you loan started and finished.. I say you should use a local broker because there are huge advantages when using someone who is familiar with local customs and works with numerous lenders, seeking out the best loan terms for your particular scenario. Because he has lower overhead, he can offer you lower rates and lower fees than most of the larger lenders.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. In old days we used to run downtown to DC with the client and it was a ordeal. Now you apply with us and we take care of everything. The process is very simplified and stress free for the consumer and our very valued veterans who served in the armed services. By the way thank you for serving. This is such a great question and I would love to help you navigate. The following web site is available to answer some questions regarding your eligibility. http://www.benefits.va.gov/benefits/I am the Daughter of a Command Sergeant Major and the Sister of a Sergeant First Class retired Veteran of Iraq and I pride myself in helping Veterans in the loan process. The VA has made the whole process fairly electronic these days. If you have your DD-214 that's great but most of your information should be available on line. Give me a call and we can get started. There is no charge to look into your eligibility and to qualify you for a home you can afford. Once you are comfortable with the process and feel you know where you're headed, then we get down to business. The Veteran's Administration entrust us as lenders to help you go about the loan processes and they, in turn, guarantee your loan. Check out my website. I am a life long Virginian and a hands on loan officer.

You can obtain a VA loan from any VA approved mortgage lender or broker. The VA doesn't provide loans themselves, they just insure loans originated by other investors, per the VA guidelines. However, some investors have "overlays" which restrict some aspects of what the VA is actually willing to insure. Your VA Eligibility is easily checked online by the lender to confirm your status, and they can then easily Pre-Approve you for financing and provide you guidance throughout the process. VA loans are the best loans in the market these days, with great interest rates and NO Mortgage Insurance. I would be happy to assist you through the entire process so please call me at 703-425-7083.
