What are the rules about getting USDA loans? How do you qualify? I know the home has to be in a rural area, but how do you find out if it is or not and how do you apply for the loan? Thanks. by healthybear55 from Louisville, Kentucky. Feb 14th 2011
You can look on the USDA maps to answer your question. Looks like Corey has it right. I offer USDA loans where allowed. Let me know if you want some help on this. I lend in all States. Click on my link for more info. Hope this helps. RC
Hi,If you are doing some research on your own you can cut and paste the links below. ( If the links do not work just Google USDA property eligibility) The links are to the USDA website. The property eligibility map is usually pretty accurate but I have ran into instances where boundaries were changed recently in Colorado and the map was not updated so you will want to ask your broker to double check with their USDA field office if the property is close to any boundaries. I would recommend that you work with a good local broker, they can help you through the process and do most of the work for you. Good luck on your purchase. I specialize in Colorado and do not work in Kentucky but if you need a good referral I know some great brokers in Louisville. Thanks, Corey Corey_seitz@excelfg.com
