How do I know what kind of rate I can get without having my credit report run multiple times?

I want to start shopping for a lender, but I don't want to have multiple dings on my credit report. Can I just print it out and bring it instead of having them run it each time? by ashleigh.t510 from Lowell, Florida. Oct 12th 2015 Reply

It depends on the lender.. Some lenders will quote you based on the credit score you say you have.. others will only quote you with a new credit report... However the good news is that when you shop for a mortgage, once the first lender pulls your credit, then any subsequent credit pulls for the next 30 days will not affect your score if they are mortgage lender credit inquiries.. Understand that a credit report is a snap shot of your credit profile at the very moment it's pulled.. If you re-pull your credit a few days later, and you charged a few items on a credit card or you paid off or paid down a credit card, it could change your score.. There are charts you call pull off the internet to show you what impacts your credit score the most.. out of all the items, credit inquiries have the LOWEST impact to your credit score.. so even if you go beyond 30 days shopping, it still wont have a large effect on your credit scores. Hello and Great day to you. It is necessary to pull credit if you would like the lender to give you an accurate quote. If you tell them what your score is, they can give you a quote to the best of their ability, based on the information you are providing. All factors need to be taken into consideration in order to give you a correct quote and options. I would recommend that you talk to a local mortgage broker in your area to assist you. You can find them on www.namb.org and click on FIND A PROFESSIONAL on the right hand side of the page by putting your state in the drop down menu.

Contrary to highly misunderstood credit report inquiries belief, you could shop every single mortgage lender in the country, as long as it is done within a 30-day period, it ONLY COUNTS AS ONE PULL. 99% of people 99% of the time should NEVER be worried about inquiries hurting their score or ability to get a loan. With that said, maybe three lenders is really all the typical person needs to get a great deal.

Credit would have to be pulled to give you an accurate quote. I would use a Mortgage Broker. We have different wholesalers we can shop rate for. We are licensed in Florida, California, and South Carolina. Ask for John Crivea at 864-907-1089.
