I want to refinance with HARP for a lower payment. by oggie_290_656 from Shirley, Massachusetts. Jul 25th 2012
The easiest way is to check your property address at their look-up websites. Follow these links. For Fannie Mae (FNMA) use http://www.fanniemae.com/loanlookup/ For Freddie Mac (FHLMC) use https://ww3.freddiemac.com/corporate/. Once you know, Contact a local Mortgage Banker /Broker. DON'T use one of the big banks, DON'T use one of the big national Mortgage factories, and DON'T use the people you are currently making payments to. Unlike a bank employee, who is most likely just an order taker, a Mortgage Broker/Banker is Trained, Tested and Licensed in all aspects of Mortgage Origination. We have access to loan products of many lenders, not just those of one bank, and can properly guide you. But more importantly, we are trained to take a look at the various different options available to you and guide you into the one that makes the best sense for your situation. Don't forget to check out your selected Mortgage Originator at the National Mortgage Licensing System at www.NMLSConsumerAccess.org ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z team of NOVA Home Loans ~ NMLS 40586 ~ www.LoansA2z.com 888-889-9950
You can visit fanniemae.com or freddiemac.com each site has a loan lookup. From there you will be able to see if it is fannie or freddie and whether or not you are eligible for the HARP 2. Good Luck!
You can also just contact a local Mortgage broker and apply with him.. they can look up your address and also run the automated approval system for your particular scenario to be sure you and your property actually qualify.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com
If you are attempting to refinance your condo via HARP 2.0, determining the eligibility of your loan as a Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac is the focus...not the condo. You can get all the relevant information for the HARP 2.0 at http://www.makinghomeaffordable.gov/programs/lower-rates/Pages/harp.aspx. Good luck.
Visit fanniemae.com or freddiemac.com each site has a loan lookup tool to put your information in. Please keep in mind the harp program with many lenders will have loan to value restrictions on refinancing. If you have any questions feel free to give me a call at 1-800-737-1366 ext. 202.
