How can my roomate and I buy together?
My roommate and I have been living together for the past 6 years. We both have good jobs in the area that we live in. We want to buy a condo across the street from our place together. But we have tons of questions. Can we both be on the loan? If one of us decides to move, can we work that person out of the loan? Please help... by leannewrt_398_976 from Sanford, Michigan. You can purchase a home together and both be on the mortgage. You are asking yourself some really good questions, and I applaud you for addressing these issues before jumping into a substantial financial commitment. My suggestion is to speak with a real estate attorney who can explain how you can structure legal ownership to protect both parties. Find a good realtor and loan officer thru a referral from a family member, or friend.
