How can I help my spouse establish credit? I heard that you can put a credit card in their name, and that will help?

There are several ways for him to establish credit. One of the easiest ways is to add him as an authorized user any credit card that is in your name.

Many ways, but adding your spouse as an "Authorized User" does not actually help their credit.. But the best thing to do is to apply for a Visa with your local credit union or community bank.. if they turn you down, then try Capital One.. they seem to be the most aggressive when it comes to lending to folks no credit history.. and then once they get their first credit account, then within 90 days or so, they will receive multiple "Pre approved" credit offers in the mail. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
